As Southern California continues to grow at a rapid pace, the need for a locally based community blood center has become a necessity. As a result, San Diego Blood Bank is opening a blood donation location in Irvine on January 4, 2022, continuing to operate under the name Southern California Blood Bank.

When you donate blood, you are giving life to local patients.
Your donation ensures that patients like Waylon have the lifesaving blood they need in times of crisis.
Shortly after birth, Waylon was diagnosed with severe respiratory distress. In the following weeks he had two surgeries and a total of 50 blood transfusions. Thanks to blood donors, Waylon is a vibrant, loving child who enjoys music, arts and crafts, riding his bike, and playing with his cars and trains.
