Medical Conditions
- Cancer, Melanoma (excludes blood cancers) – wait 1 year from end of treatment (no wait for basal cell or squamous cell if healed)
- Contact with person with Hepatitis B – wait 12 months; Hepatitis C Contact – wait 12 months if person is symptomatic
- Contact with person with HIV/AIDS or someone with high risk behavior – wait 12 months
- Contact with another person’s blood (open skin contact) – wait 12 months
- Diabetes – no wait if medically controlled
- Heart Disease (Angina, Heart Attack, MI) – wait 6 months and you must be asymptomatic at time of donation.
- Malaria - 3 years after successful treatment
- Pregnancy/Abortion/Miscarriage – wait 6 weeks after delivery, abortion, or miscarriage
- Stroke (CVA) – wait 6 months from stroke
