Plasma

Plasma Donation

Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood that carries clotting factors and proteins. Plasma is needed to treat burn victims, trauma patients and those battling severe liver disease and cancer.

If you are Type AB (known as universal plasma donors), you can make the most of you donation by becoming a plasma donor as patients of all blood types can safely receive AB plasma. Plasma donors are eligible to donate every four weeks. The donation process takes only a few minutes more than whole blood.

If you have Type AB blood, you may be a great candidate for donating plasma, platelets or both at the same time.

COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma (CCP) Donation

Recovered from COVID-19? Your plasma may help other patients.
While COVID-19 has no proven treatment, plasma donated by those who have recovered (called convalescent plasma) may help patients fighting COVID-19. This is because your body has developed antibodies against the virus.
