  • Acne treatment or isotretinoin (e.g. Accutane, Amnesteem, Absorica, Claravis, Myorisan, Sotret, Zenatain, Isotretinoin) – wait 1 month
  • Antibiotics – no wait if for prevention or acne maintenance, all others, last dose taken and asymptomatic at time of donation
  • Anticoagulants or “blood thinners” (e.g. Coumadin, Warfarin, Heparin, Pradaxa) – wait 7 days
  • Antiplatelets for stroke or heart attack prevention (e.g. Feldene Effient Brilinta, Plavix, Ticlid, Zontivity) – wait 2-14 days if donating platelet (wait time varies by medication); no wait if donating whole blood.
  • Aspirin(ASA) – platelet donors must wait 48 hours from last ASA
  • Arava, Avodart, Jalyn, dutasteride – wait 6 months
  • Blood Pressure Medication – no wait if blood pressure is within acceptable requirements at time of donation
  • Depression or anxiety Medication – no wait
  • Propecia, Proscar, Finasteride – wait 1 month
  • Psoriasis medication (Soriatane, acitretin) – wait 3 yrs;
  • Tegison – do not donate.
